Heather Westergard is a BYU alumna—having earned both her bachelor and master degrees there in nursing. She loves working in Utah Valley because she’s close to family and enjoys being surrounded by mountains.
When Heather was little, she had two surgeries. She remembers feeling terrified and not understanding what was happening. She believes this experience has helped her relate better to her patients and it drives her to create a calm, understanding environment for the kids she cares for.
Heather started her nursing career caring for adults, but she always knew she wanted to work with children. Tiny babies have a special place in her heart, so when she switched to pediatric patients, she never looked back. Since then, she’s worked in the NICU and with newborns. But now that she’s in a pediatric office, she says she fully enjoys the perks of not changing quite as many dirty diapers.
Heather is a master lego builder and excels at making epic birthday cakes, but admits she cannot throw a ball.
