Maury Giauque is originally from Utah Valley, but moved to the midwest for 15 years. She moved back with her four children to be closer to family and because she enjoys Utah’s mountains and weather. In her free time, Maury enjoys spending time with her kids, playing the violin, and singing with her local community choir.
Her interest in becoming a nurse started at 13, when she was in a car crash. She was fortunate enough to crawl out on her own. While her family was being extracted, a passing nurse stopped and comforted her through the ordeal. She knew then, that’s what she wanted to do. However, her experience as a nurse wasn’t as fulfilling as she hoped until she got into pediatrics. She hasn’t looked back since.
Maury has seen many known and lesser-known diseases and worked with people from many diverse backgrounds. Her experiences have helped her understand the importance of making each visit as enjoyable as possible for her patients. She loves to work with all children, but she has a special warmth for school-aged kids because of their blossoming sense of humor. She understands that each child is unique and after getting to know them, she’ll make sure they feel special and seen.
