As a lifelong resident of Utah County, Dr. Bartholomew says he feels deeply connected to the area and its people. He and his wife have six children and enjoy spending time in the outdoors together exploring mountains, rivers, and national parks.
With his kids ranging from four to seventeen years old, he says there is something special to appreciate about every stage of childhood. “Each stage is interesting and unique. I especially love newborns and love to see the joy and excitement of their parents with this new adventure.”
Because he parents twins who were born premature, his clinical interests include twins and newborns as well as mental health issues like ADHD, depression, and anxiety. His philosophy on pediatrics is that the best way to care for a child is to really listen to the parents. “I try never to dismiss a mother’s concerns because more often than not, she is right,” he says.
Dr. Bartholomew also loves ice cream, BYU football, J.K. Rowling books and anything written by Dr. Seuss.
Dr. Bartholomew loves running in the cool of the morning and is a keen wildlife photographer. He's not a fan of heights but doesn't seem to mind getting close enough to photograph Grizzly Bears.
