Doug Later, D.O.

Biography

Dr. Later is a Utah Valley native, a husband, and a father of four (three boys and a girl). He enjoys camping, skiing, playing basketball, and spending time with his family. He’s also a die-hard fan of the Utah Jazz. On weekends, Dr. Later will probably be out enjoying Utah’s seasons or scenery, but he may also be found acing a Sudoku puzzle or getting soundly beaten by his wife at bowling.

The path to pediatrics for Dr. Later was shaped by his father’s career as a pediatrician. He always wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and recalls how proud he was of his father’s work. Even though Dr. Later spent some time exploring other specialties, he was always drawn back to pediatrics. In his opinion, it’s a field that presents a wealth of opportunities for practicing true preventative medicine.

Dr. Later is especially passionate about autism spectrum disorders and pediatric sports medicine. He enjoys working with kids from a variety of age groups, but admits to having a soft spot for newborns, young children around 3-5 years old, and teenagers. His job gives him the chance to truly help people and connect with parents and patients, for which Dr. Later is incredibly thankful.
