Samantha grew up in Utah but also lived in the Midwest for seven years. Because her favorite thing is hiking, she was excited to see the mountains during every visit home to Utah. She tries to get out on a trail at least weekly, so she and her family are glad to be back! In addition to her love for the mountains, she also loves being able to help people in the most unexpected places such as on a hiking trail or in a national park.
Her journey to become a Family Nurse Practitioner began at BYU in 2006, where she received her BS in Exercise Science. She worked in pediatrics a few times as a nurse, but never expected to end up in pediatrics as a provider. Her love for her career has been a wonderful surprise.
As a mother of five children, Samantha loves working with kids of all ages because she says each is unique and fun. The most rewarding parts of her job is being able to answer parents’ questions and getting kids excited about taking good care of themselves.
Dr. Whitehead wants to be able to speak multiple languages. She is currently working on Spanish and Indonesian.
