The Affordable Care Act has created lots of confusion, but has made it easier to acquire insurance. For some, it might even be at a lower cost.

We at Utah Valley Pediatrics think you should know:

• If you do not have insurance by March 31st you will not be able to sign up for coverage until January 2015*
• You will be subject to a tax penalty if you choose not to enroll in a health plan
• You may qualify for a monthly premium tax credit; as much as $600 a month!

*A person may sign up for coverage if they go through what is considered a life event. Check with your insurance carrier or broker for more details.
